Saturday afternoon, May 15 or overnight
Cost: Free for afternoon or  $15 overnight

Here is a great opportunity for teachers, youth group leaders, and other interested adults to learn about the youth, school, and family education programs that occur on Canoe Island. Language teachers may be interested in learning about our summer long Canoe Island French Camp.  Teachers and youth group leaders will learn how they can use Canoe Island for an outdoor school program.

We’ll meet the Orcas Island-bound ferry that leaves Anacortes Saturday at 10:35 am, and get you back to Orcas Island in time to catch the 5:10 pm ferry. Those who are able to spend Saturday night on Canoe Island can explore the island and learn about our marine and terrestrial ecosystems, geology, and the rich cultural history. We’ll take you back to Orcas Island Sunday morning after breakfast to catch a convenient ferry.

Family Camps give your family a chance to learn and play together while exploring the natural history of the San Juan Islands and experiencing French culture.  All ages can take part: those 5 and under are half price and 2 and under are free. Those 9 and over can take part in some activities on their own; younger campers should have at least one parent with them.  Children may not registered for Family Camps alone.

Families can experience the fun and French language and culture that younger campers take part in all summer. This is a great time for alumni to return to their favorite island.  Marine biology, natural science, sailing, kayaking, swimming, tennis, traditional French games and campfires will fill the weekend. This is a great way for potential campers and parents to find out about activities and the camp facilities.

Adults attending alone or with friends are also welcome to attend.  Activities for participants for all ages will be planned.  Canoe Island is a great place for an inter generational outing or family reunion.

Families can also plan a Group Program on Canoe Island for friends and relatives during May, early June or September.  Organize your own family camp with those you know.  Plan the activities you want: academic, adventuresome or artistic.

To register on line, enter each family member as a separate camper.
