Transportation
By Air
The quickest way to arrive in the San Juan Islands is via Kenmore Air float plane to Lopez Island. Kenmore Air has a free shuttle from SeaTac Airport to their take-off point on Lake Union. The trip north takes just an hour. We would pick you up from the 2 pm flight on Friday and return you to Lopez Island to meet your favored flight on Sunday. Kenmore flights for June are $149 each way.
By Ferry
Walk on an afternoon ferry from Anacortes to Orcas Island after parking your car at the ferry landing in Anacortes for about $5 per day. Ferry tickets are about $15 round trip. We discourage driving on the ferry as you need to have your car in line up to 2 hours before the ferry leaves – both coming and going.
By Shuttle
For about $35 BellAir shuttle will bring you from SeaTac Airport or downtown Seattle to Anacortes, WA , where the ferry leaves for the islands. The shuttle leaves the airport about every hour and arrives in Anacortes 2 hours and 45 minutes later. It leaves downtown Seattle mid-day.
By Victoria Clipper
The Clipper sails from Seattle to Friday Harbor in the San Juan Islands each day, departing Seattle at 7:45 pm and arriving in Friday Harbor at 11:15. It leaves Friday Harbor at 4:30 pm and arrives back in Seattle at 7:30 pm. ($47.50 one way or $80 round trip).
All routes are beautiful: the flight over Puget Sound passes between the Olympic Mountains and the North Cascades, the trip up I-5 by bus or car passes through valley farm country and the Clipper and the ferry travel among the forested islands.
