  Sessions For Campers ages 9-16

  FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE

Our goal is to insure that all interested children can participate in our programs regardless of family income.

Mornings at camp are devoted to French language classes and activities: fencing, French cuisine and culture, archery, theater, art, and photography.  In the afternoon campers choose each day between swimming, sailing, kayaking, archery, art, rock climbing and sports, all with French vocabulary. Campfires, theatrical and musical productions, beach cookouts, camp-wide games, and astronomy fill the evenings. During the three-week sessions campers board an exploratory vessel to seek orca whales other wildlife that inhabit the Salish Sea.  A gala Bon Voyage Banquet and talent show end each session.

Here is a great opportunity for teachers, youth group leaders, and other interested adults to learn about the youth, school, and family education programs that occur on Canoe Island. Language teachers may be interested in learning about our summer long Canoe Island French Camp.  Teachers and youth group leaders will learn how they can use Canoe Island for an outdoor school program.

We’ll meet the Orcas Island-bound ferry that leaves Anacortes Saturday at 10:35 am, and get you back to Orcas Island in time to catch the 5:10 pm ferry. Those who are able to spend Saturday night on Canoe Island can explore the island and learn about our marine and terrestrial ecosystems, geology, and the rich cultural history. We’ll take you back to Orcas Island Sunday morning after breakfast to catch a convenient ferry.

Multi Level Fee Structure:
As Canoe Island French Camp enters its 42st year, we are embarking on camp infrastructure projects to insure that our facility continues to support our excellent  programs.  As part of this effort, we have a voluntary multi-level fee structure that allows families to pay more than the base level tuition that has traditionally been requested. Your choice of fee level will be treated confidentially. We thank you, in advance, for your registration at whatever tuition level you are comfortable. We do have a financial aid program for academically motivated children who need financial assistance to attend camp.

Level I is our base tuition level, that requires outside funding efforts to cover the direct and indirect costs of operating, maintaining, and upgrading the camp.

Level II is a higher tuition level that covers about 90% of the true costs of operating, maintaining and upgrading the camp including our low camper to staff ratio and the maintenance and up keep of our buildings, boats, equipment and island infrastructure.

Level III is our highest tuition level that covers all of the true costs of operating camp.

Family Camp is for all ages: children 5 and under are half price, 2 and under are free.
